Bundle Bee

Yesterday in New York we had our first real snowfall of the season and it was huge!  Of course along with the snow comes the heavy bundling.  Although we've been dealing with the cold for a couple of months now and slowly remembering the drill.  Below are some tips on keeping warm this season and still staying cute (at least until January when we really stop caring).  Unlike trends where it's best to try just one trend at a time, this is much more fun because you can try them all at once!  Happy bundling!

1.  I must admit I am not one to promote the leggings as pants trend.  However, I am all about doing it in the comfort of you own home, or better yet, under real clothes.  Uniqlo's Heattech line is amazing for layering.   The fabric is so soft and light so you don't feel like you are piling on the clothes while wearing it.  When you get home from being out, the leggings and tee's are super comfy to just lounge around in after peeling off your outer layers.  Better yet - it is all on sale and with free shipping until December 24th!  And if you aren't layering, put some pants on Girl!

2.  One of the most convenient trends this year is the trapper hat.  It is the warmest thing to put on your head and I am fully taking advantage of this trend while it lasts.  You can pretty much get them everywhere this year and at every price.  Here's me trying on the one I got in a great hat boutique by me before fully committing.  Definitely glad I took the next step!  http://www.barbarafeinmanmillinery.com/

3.  Sometimes you don't notice the quirks of functional clothing until it goes through rigorous wear testing.  For instance, do those wellies really resist all water and will that hat be warm on the coldest day.  Well with the test of blizzard conditions this weekend, the wind gusts made my jacket flap open at the bottom.  As with most jackets that don't have a zipper, the bottom button isn't at the bottom corner.  I remedied this mishap quickly and cheaply with some velcro.  Even better - sticky velcro (backed by glue so you don't have to sew!  just cut and stick)  And it is much more inconspicuous in real life than this picture may lead you to believe.

4.  And finally and oldie but a goodie.  The warmest thing since sliced wood in the fireplace?  Cashmere!  The perfect layering fabric to complete your cute Bundle Bee self :)
